Revelation 19:11-16
Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice he judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule[c] them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
In Revelation, John describes a vision of Christ’s return, one that fills us with hope, and anticipation. Here, Jesus is no longer depicted as the suffering servant but as the conquering King. The heavens open, and Jesus emerges on a white horse—a symbol of victory. His eyes are like flames of fire, His robe dipped in blood, and He is called Faithful and True, the righteous judge and warrior.
The power and authority of Christ are undeniable. He comes to make all things right, bringing justice to a world that has long suffered under the weight of sin. His name, "King of Kings and Lord of Lords," written on His robe and thigh, declares His supreme sovereignty over all earthly rulers and powers. The armies of heaven follow Him, not to fight, but to witness His triumph. Jesus alone executes judgment and reigns with a sword, the powerful Word of God.
This passage is a reminder that the story of Jesus does not end with the cross. He is returning in glory and power to establish His kingdom fully. For believers, this is a great encouragement. It assures us that the struggles and injustices of this world are not the end of the story. Christ’s victory is certain, and His reign will be eternal.
Let us live in the light of this future hope, trusting in the Faithful and True One who will return in power and glory.
