Acts 6:5-7

“5 And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch. 6 These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them. 7 And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.

It’s amazing what can happen when the church functions as a team and works together. In Acts 6, we saw a problem arise in the church. There was a great need being intentionally overlooked. This cause tension with the church and a response was needed. The disciples came together, put together a plan, raised up a team of servant leaders, and addressed the issue. The new organizational changes made to address the issue pleased the whole gathering. People were happy with the changes. This is the only time in history that this happened, right? The disciples continually prayed and proclaimed. The church raised new servant leaders from within. Men appointed by the church, full of the Spirit, ministered to the needed of the widows, and the Gospel advanced. This church worked as a team. As a result, the word increased, the church continued to grow, and lives were impacted. Teamwork really does make the dreamwork.
