Psalm 95:6-7

6 Come, let’s worship and bow down;

let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker.

7 For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture,

the sheep under his care.

As we reflect on these words, we should consider how we can respond in practical ways. Here are three action steps to help us embrace the message of this passage:

Take on a posture of worship: One of the most commonly used Hebrew words for praise and worship is “barak.” It means to bless, to praise, to kneel, or to adore. Start each morning in a posture of worship and kneel to Him. Spend that time acknowledging God’s presence and surrendering your plans to Him. Throughout the day, pause and offer simple prayers of gratitude and adoration. Set a regular time in your schedule for praise and worship and  allow God’s truth to become the filter for  your thoughts and actions.

Seek intimacy with your Maker: God longs for a personal relationship with you. Set aside time each day to seek intimacy with Him. Open His Word and allow it to speak to your heart. Engage in prayer, pouring out your thoughts, desires, and concerns. Listen for His gentle voice and guidance. Make space for silence and solitude, where you can be still and experience His presence.

Embrace His care and follow His lead: Recognize that you are part of God’s flock and that you are under His loving care. Trust in His Spirit and ask to be filled by Him daily. Align your thoughts, words, and actions with His Word. Let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. As you navigate life’s challenges, rely on His strength, knowing that He is faithful to lead you through every circumstance.

By implementing these action steps, we can fully embrace the call to worship and experience the transformative power of God’s presence in our lives.
