Proverbs 31:1, 28-30

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels….Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day, and no one deserves a special day all to herself more than today’s Mom. A cartoon once showed a psychologist talking to his patient: “Let’s see,” he said, “You spend 50 percent of your energy on your job, 50 percent on your husband and 50 percent on your children. I think I see your problem.” It’s incredibly difficult to be a godly mom in the fast paced and self-centered society in which we live today, yet there are mothers out there who have succeeded. They are supermoms, capes and all, with the big “S” right in the middle of their chests! A godly wife and mother is more precious than infinite wealth and prosperity. She is a blessing to all she comes in contact with and gives grace to all who cross her path. I thank God for allowing me to be raised in a Christian home by a supermom, and for blessing me with a supermom for a bride. When was the last time you told your wife and/or your mom how much they mean to you? Marriages and homes are falling apart all around us over all kinds of narcissistic reasons, and the barrage of constant criticism and cynicism on social media and television doesn’t help matters either. I challenge you to spend the next 30 days doing nothing but praising and expressing gratitude to your wife and/or your mother. Build them up with your words and your actions, do not tear them down. Let them know how much you care and how much they mean to you. For you godly moms out there…..keep being awesome! Keep doing what you do for your family and for Jesus, and never forget that the greatest legacy you leave for your home is the grace of Christ in the circumstances of life. Continue to be the sweet aroma of Christ in your home, and know that your children are being transformed by your godly example.
