Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.”
What does it look like to trust in the Lord with all your heart? How do you give everything to God? How do you 100% put your life in His hands? I wish I could give you an easy answer to these questions but the one thing I will say is to just live one day at a time. Maybe you can start your morning off with a cup of coffee and spending time reading your Bible and talking to God. Tell Him the things that you are struggling with and lay them at his feet. Read through this Proverbs, the entire chapter, and tell God how much you love Him.
Verse 5 tells us to not lean on our own understanding. This is why we must be in God’s Word and learn from Him how He wants us to live. He desires for us to lean on Him and let Him lead and direct our paths. Walking the Christian road is not an easy one, nowhere in scripture are we promised an easy life if we choose to follow Christ. I can tell you that when I am having a good season of life where I am fully trusting and seeking the Lord, I am filled with an indescribable peace. When I start trying to do life on my own and in my own ways, it’s a disaster. It isn’t easy trusting the Lord with my entire life, but I am going to keep striving to put it in His hands every day and keep it there. I want to lean on Him, acknowledge Him and let Him guide me. There is no better place to be than fully trusting in our Savior.
