Acts 4:13

“13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”

I love a good underdog story. Throughout this month of March Madness–which has lived up to its name–I have been pulling for the underdogs. Who would have thought FDU, a 16 seed team, would upset Purdue (a 1-seed team)? Who would have predicted Kansas would lose to Arkansas. Or San Diego St. would upset Alabama? Or The Vols beating Duke, and later FL Atlantic beating The Vols? This has been Madness indeed. This just goes to show that you should never discount anyone. After all, God often uses the unlikely to accomplish His plans. It’s the underdogs that win in multiple accounts in Scripture.

No doubt the disciples were discounted by many of their time. After all, these were just uneducated and untrained common men. They had no special ability, no seminary training, or college diploma. And yet God used these men to turn the world upside down for the gospel! They did not have alot. But what they did have is Jesus. Friends, that’s all you need. It is amazing what God can do through those who walk with Jesus. Maybe you have been discounted. Maybe you have been dealt a bad hand in life. But if you are walking with Jesus you have a comeback story. Don’t discount what God can do through your circumstances and in your life.
