Return to Worship

I hope and pray that you and your family are healthy and at peace in these complicated days. I want you to know that I have been praying for you and all the families of Living Hope during this crisis. We sent you an online survey a week ago and the responses we got back were extremely helpful, so thank you! We haven’t been able to gather together publicly for a couple of months now, but I’ve got some great news. With our city and state beginning to reopen for business we have decided to return to worship at Living Hope! Our Governor and two locals Mayors are allowing churches to begin to meet and have given us very helpful guidance on how to do it in a way that best protects the health and well-being of all. With that said, here is our return to worship plan:

MAY 17 & 24 – Outdoor Worship @ Sango 9 & 11am

On these two Sundays we will host outdoor drive-in style worship gatherings at our Sango campus. We will park cars with a parking space between each one so that you can actually get out and sit around your car for worship, weather permitting, so bring a chair and let’s worship! We do ask that you not make physical contact with other attendees at these two gatherings and the restrooms and playground will be closed to the public.

MAY 30 & 31 – Return to Indoor Gatherings

SANGO – Saturday 6pm, Sunday 8, 9:30, & 11am

TYLERTOWN – Sunday 9:30 & 11am @ Hilton Garden Inn Exit 4

Starting the last weekend in May we will return to modified gatherings in our building and at Hilton Garden Inn. Sango will worship at 6pm on Saturday evening and at 8, 930, and 11am on Sunday mornings. THE 8AM SERVICE WILL BE FOR SENIORS AND EMPTY NESTERS. This is to protect our seniors while this pandemic continues. This does not mean seniors can’t attend other service times, it just means the 8am service is for them only.

We will have to manage the number of attendees to each service for the months of June and July so we are asking everyone to GET A TICKET TO THE WORSHIP YOU PLAN TO ATTEND. You will be able to do that online at www.livinghopeclarksville.org and www.tylertownchurch.org in the coming weeks.

Many of our church members have asked about kids and student ministries for the summer. OUR KIDS AND STUDENT MINISTRIES WILL NOT GATHER FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE. Our plan is to offer modified kids and student ministry gatherings in the month of July and return to a full schedule of kids and student ministry gatherings in August. This will obviously depend on the circumstances surrounding the pandemic at that time.

Here are some other important points of interest:

  • We will have a no contact policy for all attendees for June
  • Masks will be available for the month of June for attendees who would like one
  • We plan to leave exterior doors open during worship for the month of June so fresh air can circulate
  • All attendees will be asked to exit immediately after worship for cleaning between gatherings
  • We will clean thoroughly between gatherings on Sundays and during the week
  • We will have no printed programs or pass offering baskets for the months of June and July
  • We plan to take communion in July with self-contained elements
  • Room 310 will be used as an overflow room for moms or dads with crying babies/toddlers
  • We invite you to bring your own coffee in June. We plan to reopen the Mission Café in July.

One last thing: if you are very concerned about gathering right now or are extremely vulnerable when it comes to Covid-19 and the effect it could have on your health, we certainly understand if you need to stay home and fully support you in doing so. Our online worship will continue as normal, and you can worship with us online on Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo, or on our website at www.livinghopeclarksville.org.

Living Hope, know that I love you and am praying for you. These have been tough days, but may we never forget that the best is yet to come. Jesus is Lord and His Kingdom is closer now than it has ever been. May we be about the Lord’s work in these days of giving hope to our neighbors through the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the meantime, if I can do anything for you please don’t hesitate to ask.

Your Pastor and Friend,

Pastor Derek
