Leadership

Living Hope operates as a Pastor Led, Trustee supported, and Deacon served church. This simply means that the Pastoral Team has the responsibility to set the vision and direction of the church with oversight by our Trustees and support by our Deacons. Trustees and Deacons, therefore, are very important servant roles that require Spirit-filled and wise leadership from godly lay people within the Church who are fully involved and invested in the vision and ministry of Living Hope. The Trustee Body will have both men and women serving on it, while the Deacon Body will be comprised only of ordained men.

Principal Function:
Trustees are Spirit filled and wise men and women who have gifts of leadership and administration who are set apart for the purpose of aligning structures and resources to best accomplish the vision of the Church. They are fully involved and invested in the ministry of the Church and fully support the vision and direction of the Church as set by the Pastors.

Qualifications of the Position: 
A trustee must be at least 25 years of age and have been a member of Living Hope at least 2 years, possess an intimate walk with our Lord Jesus Christ, exhibit gifts of leadership and/or administration, exemplify support for the vision set forth by the Pastors, maintain a willingness to serve alongside the trustee team, and be invested and involved consistently in the life of the Church. 

Requirements of the Position:
1.         Spend time consistently with the Lord in prayer and Bible study.
2.         Meet quarterly with the trustee team for ministry coordination alongside the Lead Pastor.
3.         Assist in decision making of the church alongside the Pastors in the following areas:
            – Budgets
            – Buildings
            – By-Laws
            – Finances
            – Personnel  
4.         Offer counsel and advice to the Pastors.
5.         Expand and express the vision of Living Hope.     

Expectations:
The Church expects trustees to fully support the Pastors in the carrying out of the gospel mission and vision set forth and to ensure that appropriate gospel centered ministry goes forth from the Church

Principal Function:           

A Deacon is a Spirit filled and wise man set apart and ordained for the special purpose of shepherding the Body, sharing the gospel, and serving the Pastors and staff. He is fully involved and invested in the ministry of the Church and fully support the vision and direction of the Church as set by the Pastors.

Qualifications of the Position:
A Deacon must be at least 25 years of age and have been a member of Living Hope at least 1 year, possess an intimate walk with our Lord Jesus Christ, exemplify support for the vision set forth by the Pastors, maintain a willingness to serve alongside the Deacon team, have a heart for shepherding the Body of Christ and sharing the gospel with unbelievers, and be invested and involved consistently in the life of the Church.

Requirements of the Position:
1.         Spend time consistently with the Lord in prayer and Bible study.
2.         Meet monthly with the Deacon team for ministry coordination alongside the Lead Pastor.
3.         Make shepherding calls/visits/etc. as assigned by the Pastors
4.         Share the gospel with unbelievers and encourage others to do the same
5.         Offer counsel and advice to the Pastors on all matters of the Church
6.         Expand and express the vision of Living Hope

Expectations:
The Church expects Deacons to fully support the Pastors in the carrying out of the gospel mission and vision set forth and to ensure that the Body of Christ is cared for and encouraged to share the gospel.
