Ephesians 3:14-19
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Oh, I’m running to Your arms,
I’m running to arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

I think that we can all agree that 2020 was not what we hoped it would be. A global pandemic, political unrest, social injustices, rioting in the streets, people losing jobs and retirements, the uncertainty of what school would look like for our kids…it was just a lot and none of us were prepared for it. Through all of the craziness of 2020 though, I found a place of peace in the Lord. It was in this place that I was reminded that He is the great physician and He is above sickness. It reminded me that in Him, we are one. It reminded me that in injustice, He is righteous. It reminded me that no matter who wins an election, He is still King.

This song has been such an encouragement to me. Aren’t you glad that when we’re no good that He still is?!?! Aren’t you grateful that He is constant even when we wander?!?! Isn’t it comforting to know that when we are fearful that He is our place of peace and refuge?!?! He is so much better than we deserve! He is our Mighty Warrior that saves! He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs (Zephaniah 3:17). When I sing the words, “I’m running to Your arms, I’m running to Your arms, The riches of Your love, Will always be enough, Nothing compares to Your embrace” I’m reminded that only “through His Spirit are we able to comprehend the width, length, depth, and height of the Love of Christ.” I pray that we can all lean into that in this season and allow the fullness of God to fill our hearts so that we may proclaim in worship “Light of the world forever reign!”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Oh God, you are so good. Thank you for being my strong tower in this season of uncertainty. Thank you for wrapping Your arms around me and calming my fears with your love. Never let me forget that my hope is in You and You alone. Thank you for Your son, Jesus. It’s in His name we give thanks and pray, amen.

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
