1 Corinthians 15:12-19

12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

In the hardest seasons, when darkness hides the future, and doubt grips our hearts, we find comfort in the victory of Christ’s resurrection. In 1 Corinthians 15:12-19, Paul reminds us that our faith hinges on this pivotal event. Without the resurrection, our faith crumbles, and our hope vanishes into thin air.Warren Wiersbe puts it this way, “If Jesus Christ can do nothing about death, then whatever else He can do amounts to nothing.”

The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, the bedrock upon which we stand firm. Through Christ’s resurrection, we find assurance that death has been defeated, and the sting of its power has been taken away. Our hope is not anchored in fleeting promises or temporal comforts but in the eternal victory of our Savior over sin and death.

Just as Christ emerged victorious from the grave, so too shall we rise with Him to everlasting life. Our mortal bodies will be clothed with immortality, and death will be swallowed up in victory. In moments of trouble, when the world offers no comfort and our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we turn our gaze to the empty tomb. There, we find not despair but hope, not death but life abundant and eternal.

Let us cling to the hope of Christ’s resurrection, for in it, we find the promise of redemption, restoration, and eternal joy. As we journey through life’s trials and tribulations, may the truth of Christ’s victory over death sustain us and fill our hearts with unwavering hope. In Christ, our risen Lord, we find the assurance that nothing can separate us from His love, not even death itself. Let us, therefore, live in the light of His resurrection, knowing that our labor is not in vain, for our hope is secure in Him alone.
