2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

The Devil is a liar. Jesus said that Satan is the father of lies and that all lies originated with him. He and his demons are following a premeditated plan daily to destroy your life and mine. I’m not good enough. I’m not strong enough. I’m not smart enough. This situation will never get better. My spouse is never going to change. My kids are never going to get it. I’ll never be happy at my job. I’ll never break this addiction. I’ll always be depressed. These are just a handful of the lies we allow the enemy to paralyze us with. When we listen to the lies of the enemy and allow them to take up residence in our hearts and minds they soon become self-fulfilling prophecies. The question is what does the gospel say? What does the Bible say about our relationship in Christ? Who are we in Him? In Christ we are forgiven, redeemed, justified, healed, provided for, blessed, and highly favored! It is imperative the we daily die to ourselves, which also means dying to our worldly ways of thinking. I encourage you to take a daily inventory of your thoughts and ask, “Are these thoughts of God or of the enemy?” Taking every thought captive means to apprehend our thoughts and bring them under submission to the truths of Scripture. Today, if you are in a personal relationship with Christ, you are loved and empowered by Christ Himself. The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves brought on by the enemy that we allow to stay. Recognize, remove, and replace those thoughts today. You are who God says you are, and don’t you ever forget it!
