Matthew 6:24

24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Who is your master? Who is the one who leads your life? Jesus in His famous Sermon on the Mount seeks to get to the heart of the matter with those in attendance listening to Him. In the section of Matthew 6 He shares the reality that no one can serve two masters. Even though you may think you are pledging allegiance to both masters, in the end you will choose to love one and neglect/despise the other.

The call of the believer is to pledge allegiance to the One who has saved and set us free- Jesus Christ. We were created for Him to be first place in our lives. So choose to let Him rule and reign as first place! Who or what is reigning as master of your life today? Is it money? Is it work? Is it your family? None of those things are bad by any means, but they do not need to be your master. Choose Jesus today! Trust in Him: Let Him reign today!

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him

How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er

Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus

Oh, for grace to trust Him more
