Hebrews 4:15
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
I don’t know about you, but I face temptation every day, all day. I must be so careful to guard my heart and mind as I go about my day. You just never know when temptation is going to hit you and if you are not prepared, it’s easy to give in to it. There have been times in my life that I felt all alone in my struggle and that I was the only person that dealt with that specific issue. This verse was shared with me by a close friend, and I have held on tight to it since then.
Jesus empathizes with us because He was tempted in every possible way during his time on earth, yet He didn’t sin. Jesus, being fully man and fully God, resisted temptation with the help of His Father. That help is available to us now through His word. Memorize this verse and call on the Lord when you are tempted. He will provide a way out for you. You are never alone, and He understands you. Wow! How can you not take comfort in this promise from God?! I pray that your heart is encouraged today from leaning into this truth.
