Psalm 96:1-3

“Oh, sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!”

As I watched my wife, Bethany, live her last few months of life before Jesus took her home, she exemplified these verses with all of her being. Friends would come over to visit and pray for her, but Bethany would end up praying over them before they left the house. It was truly awe inspiring to see my wife’s faith be so strong even during her losing battle with cancer. Since she has been in heaven, I try my best to focus on the joy knowing that Bethany is in eternity with our Savior. These verses challenge me to ask myself, “Who am I sharing the Good News with on a regular basis?” They also make me wonder if I’m living a life that is bringing glory to my Father in heaven? Grieving is a strange process and it’s different for everyone, no two people grieve in the same way. Regardless of what may be going on in your life right now, take some time to meditate on these verses. Put on some worship music and “sing your praises to the Lord.”  Let Him pour His grace and mercy over you. If you enjoy journaling, write down at least 10 things you are thankful for and want to give praise to God. We serve a BIG God and He loves you unconditionally. Soak in these truths today.
