Ephesians 5:15-17

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

When I read this verse, I wish I could say that I have always walked as the wise and have never been foolish, but we all know that is a big fat lie. I can’t count the number of times that I have intentionally chosen to disobey what the Lord wanted me to do and did what felt right. I must be careful to not let my feelings overcome what I know is God’s truth. Doing what is biblically right, isn’t always easy or the popular choice but I would rather be in obedience to what the Lord calls me to do than what man expects me to do.

What are you doing in your life to help you walk where the Lord wants you to go, to do the things He wants you to do and to live the life He has called you to live? I am guilty at times of saying that my life is just too busy to spend a lot of time in God’s word or in prayer. My days are more peaceful and joyful when I start them off reading my Bible and talking to the Lord. Creating time in my day to dedicate quality time with my Savior is the best thing I can do each day. I encourage you to do the same so you will be able to be wise and to walk with the Lord. His will for each of us is perfect and we need to strive to live in it every day.
