Acts 10:34-35

34 So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

Peter, the apostle in Acts 10 comes to the realization of the greatest news ever: That the Gospel of Christ is for everyone. He has a vision from the Lord of a man named Cornelius who feared God that was coming to meet him at his house. He goes down to meet him and his prejudice is melted away, he comes to the understanding that the Gospel message was not just for the Jewish people, but was for all people. Whosoever can come!

Aren’t you glad for that news today? Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior died for all mankind. For the Jew and the Gentile did He die. For the African, the Asian AND the American did He die. Hallelujah! Our Lord God does not show any partiality. The call for us is to choose to live the same. It is so easy to fall victim to prejudice when it comes to the Gospel like Peter was. We can begin to think that it’s only people who look like us, or act like us that are worthy of the Gospel. May we choose to throw away that lie and praise the Lord that the Gospel came to us, as well as choose to tell of this glorious news to those we live by and work with!
