Acts 9:19-22

19 For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. 20 And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” 21 And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?” 22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.

In Acts 9, we see a man by the name of Saul radically changed by the Gospel of Christ. He went from a persecutor of the church to one who was a part of it. In the beginning portion of the chapter, he is blinded by Christ on the road to persecute Christians and was saved. A man by the name of Ananias the Lord uses to restore his sight and encourage him. We then find him amongst some of the Christians in v.19-22. He immediately was unashamed of this Jesus he just met and couldn’t help but to share Him with those in the synagogue. However, in vs. 22 we see that in the midst of questioning from the other disciples about whether Saul was legit, he grew in confidence and strength and continued sharing the gospel with the lost.

In the same way, when it comes to sharing the gospel, the task can seem daunting. The task can seem difficult, but the call for us as followers of Christ is to be a witness for Him to those who are lost around us. The key for us is to learn how to step out in faith and share. We’ve got to begin somewhere. Saul was a brand-new convert. He knew a lot about the scriptures, but he didn’t know about Christ. So he shared what He knew about Him. As you grew in his walk with the Lord, he continued to grow in his confidence and ability to share.

So today, who are those people you know the Lord has placed in your life who are lost and need to hear the gospel? I encourage you to pray for them and ask for the Lord to open up opportunities for you to share with them. You can do it! Choose to seek the Lord and follow Him as He leads you to share as Paul did.
