Joshua 24:15

15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

After gathering all the leaders of the Israelites together, Joshua leaves them with a final charge. They must choose for themselves who they will serve. He warns against the idols from the past (“the gods your ancestors served”) and the idols from the present (“gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living”).  Joshua challenges the leaders to make a decision. If the Lord is God, then follow Him.

Sometimes, the enticement of sin comes in the opportunity to have the pleasure of sin without having to make a full commitment to leave the truth. Where can we make a stand that says we have a full commitment to follow Jesus?
