Nehemiah 6:15-16

15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. 16 And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.

Have you ever felt like God was calling you to do something but you were not sure how to go about it? Where the resources are going to come from? Where the help will come from to get started? So did Nehemiah.

Nehemiah was living in Persia during this time. He heard the temple was being reconstructed and had great concerns for the wall was not yet rebuilt to protect the city. He had no supplies, no help, and no authority to do it. He sought the Lord, prayed, and received the blessing of God. He goes before the Persian king, Artaxerxes, and asked for his blessing in allowing him to leave and rebuild the wall. Not only does he receive the kings blessings, but the king also supplies the resources necessary to rebuild the wall. He also receives the man power needed. He also received protection and safe passage from the king.

God’s work done God’s ways will never lack God’s supplies. And even when things start to get difficult in the process, God is with his faithful servants. As Nehemiah and his men work on the wall, they are heckled, threatened, and oppressed by their enemies. Nevertheless, Nehemiah and his men continue to fulfill their mission and complete the wall. When their enemies’ attempts to deter them does not work and they learn the wall is completed they were terrified. They went being the bully to hiding in a corner. Their fear was not of Nehemiah but of his God.

Listen, don’t fear the mission. Don’t fear the journey. Don’t fear the obstacles or opposition. When God sends us on mission, He will accomplish His work. He simply calls us to be faithful. And no difficulty, no enemy, no hard season of life will stop the plans of God. When God calls you to it, He will be faithful to do it. With the help of our God, there is nothing we cannot accomplish for His kingdom.

His plans will not be deterred. His power will not be overcome. His mission will be completed. Will you answer the call and be faithful to fulfill the mission before you?
