Psalm 71:18

Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come.

Psalm 71:18 encourages us to share our faith journey and declare God’s power to the next generation. As we grow old, we’re not meant to keep this wisdom to ourselves. God wants us to actively mentor and guide those who come after us. It’s like passing on the stories of how God has been faithful in our lives. This responsibility gives our lives purpose, showing that our faith isn’t just personal but also about building a strong foundation for the future.I

Let’s listen to what Psalm 71:18 is saying: God wants us to share our stories of how He’s helped us, especially as we get older. It’s not just about us—it’s about making sure the next generation knows about God’s love and power. We’re like people carrying a torch, passing on the light of faith. Doing this gives our lives extra meaning, showing that we’re not just living for ourselves but also building a bridge to the future with God’s love as the most important thing.. If believers don’t own the responsibility of shaping the next generation…believe me, something or someone else will.

So, Psalm 71:18 tells us to keep telling the stories of how God has helped us, even when we’re old. It’s not just about our own faith journey but making sure the next generation knows about God’s love and power. We’re like torchbearers passing on the light of faith. This task gives our lives even more meaning, showing that we’re not just living for ourselves, but also building a bridge to the future with God’s love at its core.
