Genesis 1:26-27, 31

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them…And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”

Have you ever thought about what it means when the Bible says you are made in God’s image? Did you realize that mankind is the only part of creation that God said was very good? I have been thinking about this lately and wanted to share this with y’all. I struggle with constantly critiquing myself and never being content with how God created me. His Word tells me that I am made in His image…WOW! When I belittle myself, I am belittling one of God’s creatures that He loves unconditionally. I need to do a better job of being kind to myself.

With that said, I also need to do a better job of taking care of myself. I want to reflect God with the person that I am, and I believe that is partially reflected in how you respect and treat your body. As a believer, the Holy Spirit dwells within me and my body is a temple for God. Since I am made in God’s image, I want to be the best example of Christ I can be to others. I want to be “Jesus with skin on” to the people I encounter every day. How are you taking care of yourself? What changes do you need to make in your life so you can be a stronger example of Christ to others? Rejoice in the truth that you are made in His image!!
