II Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

2024 is just a few days away and this is a time where many of us will make resolutions and try to do things that will better ourselves. I know that there are a few things that I would like to work on next year. My focus is on what I can do to draw closer to God while I balance a healthy lifestyle physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This verse from II Corinthians is a great reminder for those who are followers of Christ. When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation! The old self is gone and the new one in Jesus has started.

The beauty of this verse to me is when it says, “if anyone is in Christ.” God’s redemption is for ALL people. No matter how old you are or what mistakes you have made in life, the Lord still desires to have a personal relationship with you and wants to make you a new person. I love hearing people’s redemptive stories and how God rescued them from sin and brought hope, joy, love, and peace into their lives. The most important decision you can make in your life is to give your life to Christ and let Him make you new. As we wind down the year and prepare for the new one, take some time with the Lord and ask Him what you need to work on this year to grow closer to Him. What changes do you need to make in your life or what healthy habits do you need to start that will strengthen your relationship with Jesus? I pray that each of you has a Happy New Year!
