One of my absolute favorite worship songs is “Better is One Day” that was taken from this verse in Psalms. I was attending the Passion ’99 conference with my college students when I first heard this song. I can remember the impact it had on my life as we sang it over and over that week. As a Christian, I struggle with worldly desires that can take my eyes off Jesus. If I’m being honest, there have been many times in my life where I have chosen idols such as popularity, money, friends and even my family over my relationship with God. I pray that I continue to strive to be the man that the Lord wants me to be. I want to be able to pray this Psalm and mean it. The truth is there is NOTHING on this earth that can compare to being in the presence of our Savior, prostrating before Him and worshiping Him. If you don’t know this song, go find it on Spotify or Apple music and listen to it. Take the time to focus on the words and let it be your prayer to God for today.
