2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
We seem to be living in some dark times. It is hard to turn on the news or look on the internet and not read about some new tragedy or see where evil is overwhelming our communities. My gut reaction is to be scared and lose hope in humanity. What I need to do is fall to my knees and pray to the Lord for His help, His guidance and His wisdom. I am not very good at doing that so as God brought this verse to me this morning, I am motivated to be fighting on my knees with my hands lifted high to the Lord.
How do you start your day? Are you like me that way too many times I get on social media or some news network to see what I missed while I was sleeping? I need to be getting out of bed and falling to my knees asking the Lord to prepare me for the day. As believers in Christ, we will face battles every day and if we don’t get on the armor of God to help us fight, we will fall. I challenge us to start the day off in prayer before we reach for our phones or even that first cup of coffee. God wants to hear from us, He wants to help us, He just wants us to seek His face and ask for it. He is the only HOPE we have here on this earth.
