2 Corinthians 2:14-16

14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

Do you remember Axe body spray? Axe was a staple in my middle school life. I remember thinking that spray was the bomb! After football practice before class, would douse myself in it and head to class thinking I smelled great. To a few perhaps I did, but to many I know I smelt like a ocean spray scented skunk! The point is that with that spray on there was some kind of aroma being projected to those around me.

In the same way, Paul mentions in 2 Corinthians 2 that believers are the very aroma of Christ Jesus. To some, the way that we live and the Gospel we proclaim is like a sweet fragrance, to others we are a pungent odor. Our call as believers ultimately is to spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. Can that be said of your life? By the way you live can those around you attest to the fact that you are spreading the aroma of Christ? Even though to them it may stink, can they say that you are about Him? In the midst of the relationships you have, are you verbally sharing the Gospel message which saved you? Friends, may we choose to be the aroma of Christ in these days by living whole-heartedly for Him.
