Philippians 4:1

4 Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

As I write my final devotion for Living Hope Church, I am reminded of Philippians 4. Paul was writing this letter from prison in Rome. Paul was not sure if he would see this church again, but he loved the church dearly. He prayed often for them. And he missed the dearly (1:8). But he is confident his partners in the gospel will continue to be faithful. He knows that God who started a good work in them will see it to completion (1:6).

Living Hope, we may not see each other again on this side of eternity. But know I will be praying for you often. We will miss you dearly. What the Philippian church was to Paul, you are to me. Paul says this church was his joy and crown (4:1). Paul had joy every time he thought of them. And that is how I feel about you all.

But I am confident that the work God is doing through this church will be brought to completion. And though it is difficult to say farewell, I know that God has great plans for this church. Continue the mission of giving hope and making disciples, and may the peace of God be with you all. We love you all.
