Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Being still is not something I am great at, especially when things get chaotic. Our natural response to chaos and trials is anxiety, fear, worry, panic, and/or fix-it-mode. But what happens when you can’t fix it? What happens when you have no control over the situation? What happens when you transition from the person people depend on to the one who has to be dependent upon God? There are things in life that we have no control over. And in those moments, we must hear the whisper of God who says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Be still here is literally STOP WHAT YOUR DOING.

Like a parent whose child doesn’t listen after they’ve repeated themselves multiple times, their tone may change to grasp their attention. It may go from a please stop doing that to a Please Stop to a “STOP!” God may be speaking to you today telling you to STOP! Stop the worry, stop the anxiety, stop the fear, stop trying to fix it; just leave it in His hands. After all, “He is God.”
